The CoopStarter Mentors Training was a success!

As announced in July 2018, CooperativeSuisse is implementing the CoopStarter programme (now called Global Cooperative Entrepreneurs) in Switzerland. The initiative aims to support the creation of mentorship programmes to stimulate youth cooperative entrepreneurship worldwide.

On March 18-22, the programme’s first mentors training took place in Manchester, hosted by the Co-operative College. Mentors from around the world - Switzerland, Poland, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Colombia and El Salvador - came together to get prepared for their role to support the foundation of new social cooperatives. The training provided a great mixture between technical learnings and collective discussions on how mentoring is done the right way.

The four mentors selected by and representing CooperativeSuisse, who visited the training, are:

  • Amadeus Wittwer, CEO of Energiegenossenschaft

  • Camille Roseau, Marketer at WOZ & Co-President of the Verband Medien mit Zukunft

  • Raphael Tobler, President of the Entrepreneur Club Winterthur & CEO at eduwo.ch

  • Benjamin Vidas, Vize President of the Entrepreneur Club Winterthur & Co-Founder of eduwo.ch

Now that we have four experienced and trained mentors, we can’t wait to start scouting for the programme’s mentees: individuals or groups of people eager to found a socially oriented cooperative. This process will start in the end of April - stay tuned!
